Petrouchka
Composer Igor Stravinsky
Choreographer Michel Fokine
Paying homage to the 100th anniversary of this Sergei Diaghilev-era classic created by Michel Fokine in 1911, San Francisco Ballet presents the encore of Petrouchka. Set in early nineteenth-century St. Petersburg, this poignant work tells the tragic story of a puppet who possesses a human soul, only for it to be tortured by the emptiness and ignorance of others.
