Magnus Lindberg discusses his new appointment with the New York Philharmonic as their Composer-in-Residence 2009-11, his musical background and his plans to develop contemporary music with the orchestra in collaboration with Music Director Alan Gilbert.
The residency is launched on 16 September with the premiere of Lindberg's new orchestral opener EXPO, commissioned to begin the first concert with Alan Gilbert as Music Director. The work tours to the Far East and Germany during the 2009/10 season.
