Johns Adams: on The Gospel According to the Other Mary

This short film explores John Adams's The Gospel According to the Other Mary through interviews with the composer and mezzo Kelley O'Connor. Social justice, political unrest, miracles, and resurrection are all themes in this passion oratorio, summed up by the Los Angeles Times as “the most sophisticated, majestic, and moving [music] of his career.” The video is provided courtesy of the San Francisco Symphony who performed the work in Spring 2017.
