Brett Dean's large-scale oratorio The Last Days of Socrates for bartione soloist, chorus and orchestra, commissioned by Rundfunkchor Berlin, received its world premiere in April 2013 in Berlin with Sir John Tomlison and the Berlin Philharmonic conducted by Sir Simon Rattle.
In this video, the composer gives insight into the creative process. The clip also shows excerpts from the rehearsals.
