Miniaturen

In my youth, I was very fond of Schumann. Works such a Carnaval, Kreisleriana and Papillons were among my favourites (and still are!). Among other things, I was fascinated by their form, with their strings of short expressive fragments that nonetheless belong together. This old love was the inspiration for Miniatures for clarinet and accordion. The composition came about thanks to a commission from Klangwerkstatt Kreuzberg (Berlin) and was originally written for the Duo Nancy Laufer and Jürgen Kupke.
