The two versions of Stravinsky's Pétrouchka constitute separate & parallel incarnations of one of the cardinal masterworks of 20th-century music. Arguably the 1911 original version is the work of a greater showman: it remains a supreme work of the theatre, while the 1947 score is essentially aimed at concert performance. This corrected edition allows informed comparison for the first time.
