The Lord's Prayer has served as text to innumerable musical settings throughout the Christian world. None, perhaps more indigenous to a specific region than this version from Trinidad, with its clypso style. For mixed choir (SATB) a cappella.

Calypso's origin has been traced to the late 18th century island plantations of Trinidad and was sung by popular singers known as shatwel. They employed a peculiar mixture of French, English and African words in texts about unpopular members of the community. With the coming of missionaries, native music became infused with Christian texts. This particular song has become well-known throughout Christian Europe and America.
