About
Carl Nielsen’s Woodwind Quintet from 1922 is a principal work in the international chamber music literature. On this new release the Quintet is featured together with other of the composer’s chamber music works, where one or more wind players take part. The music selection ranges timely from the pure youth of Nielsen to his mature master ship, and in the selection we also find three little pieces from the music to Moderen (The mother), including the classic Tågen letter (The Fog is Lifting).

Reviews
It is all extremely well played, beautifully recorded and well documented.
(Gramophone)

A welcome disc ... Throughout the Wind Quintet we can enjoy playing of warmth and lyricism
(Musicweb International)

DiamantEnsemblet plays the serenade and the quintet wonderfully. This may be the best recording of it yet .. The whole recording makes me look forward to the rest of the series.
(Fanfare Magazine)
