Leopold Mozart (1719–1787), known today almost exclusively as the father of Wolfgang Amadeus, was a violinist, conductor, composer and theorist who, together with Michael Haydn and Johann Ernst Eberlin, was a prominent figure in the musical life of Salzburg for over forty years.
The Sonata in B flat is one of three keyboard sonatas that the music publisher Johann Ulrich Haffner included in a 1756 collection.
