Like his 'Fünf Chansons' for the same instrumentation, Detlev Glanert's second wind quintet captivates the audience by the brilliant use of the instrumental colours and forms of expression. The one-movement work is characterized by a dense motivic texture from which, time and again, individual instruments erupt briefly in a soloistic manner to eventually align themselves with the overall homogeneous sound.
