This book has been complied with the true beginner in mind, and it should be possible to use this book from the very first lessons. The pieces are progressive with regard to notes, i.e. a new note is added in each new piece, except in the first five pieces where there is some duplication. In general the accompaniments are as simple as is musically possible so as to enable young musicians to collaborate. Short footnotes to each piece are included which may prove helpful to the oboist.
