It takes the student through common rhythmic styles (swing, rock, rock 'n' roll, jazz waltz, 6/8, 5/4, 12/8, 2/2) and figures in a variety of common keys. Blues harmonic and rhythmic styles provide excellent material for accidental, rhythm and rest reading. Included in this volume are fingering recommendations for Bb/A#.

This volume is the first in a series of two solo books; this volume is approximately grade 0-3 standard. The series covers grades 0-6. Also in the "Blues for" series are four duet books and one trio book.
