Burt Bacharach, born May 12, 1928 in Kansas City, Missouri is an award-winning American pianist and composer. He is best known for his many pop hits from the 1960s and 1970s, most with lyrics written by Hal David, which were recorded by many different artists. As of 2006, Bacharach had written a total of 70 Top 40 hits in the USA and 52 Top 40 hits in the UK. This medley uses just four of them: "Alfie", "I say a little prayer", "Walk on by" and "Close to you".
