Magnus Lindberg
Magnus Lindberg, born in Helsinki in 1958, is one of Europe's most talented young composers, particularly admired for his orchestral scores. Energy, colour and a thrilling density of material are the hallmarks of his recent style, which defines a new classical modernism; and he has achieved the rare double act of appealing both to new-music specialists and to general concert audiences. Interpreters include Knussen, Simon Rattle and Dohnányi, and his music is already widely recorded on Deutsche Grammophon, Sony, Finlandia, and Ondine.
"...a proven master in his own cogent idiom... We need him; he is a true and original tonic." — Financial Times
