Briggs, Kerensa - Ubi caritas

Inspired by and incorporating the plainsong melody, this exquisite new choral work by Kerensa Briggs breathes new life into the cherished Latin text 'Ubi caritas et amor, Deus ibi est' ('Where charity and love are, God is there'). With its captivating blend of traditional and contemporary elements, combined with characteristic rich harmonies, this work for mixed choir (SATB with divisi) offers a deeply moving musical experience that will touch the hearts of choirs and audiences alike. Commissioned in 2023 by Lichfield Chamber Choir, the setting is suitable for intermediate to advanced choirs.
