This short film explores James MacMillan's Stabat Mater recorded by The Sixteen and Britten Sinfonia conducted by Harry Christophers. This powerful work for choir and string orchestra sets the classic medieval poem depicting Mary the mother of Christ at the foot of the Cross. The score was commissioned by the Genesis Foundation, premiered in 2016 at the Barbican, and released in 2017 on The Sixteen's label Coro. The film was produced for The Sixteen by Tall Wall Media.
