Time and Place

Martin's place, in the morning

Synopsis

It is morning and Martin is paid a call by a young woman named Rita. He cannot remember anything, but she tells him that they had a lot of fun at the party the night before. Horrified, Martin learns that he devastated the home of the host, his employer, insulted the guests, and was consequently dropped by his girlfriend Ines. Only Rita found him highly amusing: she drove him home in a taxi, where he declared his love to her, and she brought him to bed. When hearing that Rita has already informed all his friends of their engagement, Martin disconcertedly falls on the sofa. Rita tucks him up, with the words: "After all, I am your Rita."
