Synopsis

Abra has had enough. Family tradition has destined her to be a wailer, despite being a cheerful character in every fibre of her heart. Now she is wailing for the second night running at the grave of Cytheris's husband, the banker Diodoros, joined by the inconsolable widow who most of all would like to follow her husband. Just then the gods send two handsome soldiers, Julian and Sabo, who are guarding the body of a hanged enemy of the state and, on seeing the two ladies, forget their duties. This is going to have consequences…
