LOVIS Soprano
THE TREE Baritone
Synopsis

Lovis is a child – and likes to be alone. The other children get on his nerves with their games as well as the parents with their involvement. Lovis would love to just fly away, up to the sky, where the beloved grandpa is now. Lovis has thought everything carefully, calculated the wingspan of the wings and chosen a tree from whose top it wants to fly. But on the trunk, which is not so easy to climb, the dream of flying seems to fail. Then Lovis meets a tree spirit. He is peculiar, also a bit grumpy, but listens carefully to what the child says. Finally, he decides to take him on an adventurous journey into the wonderful world of the forest, from the roots, through the tree up to the top.

On his journey, Lovis meets several inhabitants and users such as a cellar ash, mushrooms, beetles, a woodpecker and a squirrel and has many insights: about flying, the cycle of life and above all about the miracle of living together. Enough to take off at the end in the wavering crown, full of courage and trust in the community.

Repertoire Note

Der Baumgeist is an adventurous-philosophical station drama around a tree. It combines big themes such as the dream of flying and the mystical world of the forest with what is so tremendously important in these times: trust in the community.
