Polar Bear King Valemon asks Count Erik for the hand of his daughter Ragna. Erik refuses, but Ragna agrees. She has dreamed about Valemon and knows: his heart is full of love. She follows the bear to his castle. Valemon reveals a secret to Ragna: at night he becomes human, but he is only allowed to be with her in the dark, never showing himself. Ragna promises not to question anything. Luck is great until a letter from her mother arrives: Valemon is an evil troll. Ragna looks at her sleeping husband. Valemon wakes up. Horror: Now he must enter the realm of the troll queen who has bewitched him. Ragna vows to save him…
