Synopsis
While washing clothes, an old, childless woman discovers a large peach floating down the river. She pulls it onto land and takes it home with her. There, as her husband wants to cut up the peach, a small lad springs out of it: Momotaro. having grown to boyhood, Momotaro eventually sets off to vanquish the demon on Onigashima Island. On the way there, he becomes friends with three animals, with whom he shares his rice cakes: a dog, a pheasant, and a monkey. Together they defeat the demon, and Momotaro returns to his parents.
