Johannes X. Schachtner was born in Gräfelfing on 26 June 1985 and studied conducting under Bruno Weil and composition under Hans-Jürgen von Bose, Rudi Spring and Jan Müller-Wieland at the Munich University of Music and Performing Arts. He has already worked as a conductor with the Philharmonie Bad Reichenhall, the Munich “taschenphilharmonie”, the Georgian Chamber Orchestra Ingolstadt and the Munich Symphony Orchestra, with whom he made his debut in January 2009. In 2007 he made his debut as an opera conductor with Rossini's "Il turco in Italia" and received invitations to the Munich A-DEvantgarde Festival in 2007 and 2009. A member of the artistic board of the A-DEvantgarde Festival from 2010 to 2015.
