Leaving

‘This one-movement composition for string orchestra. was written in the summer of 1998 soon after the death of my 'father’. and therefore all this music is about this. I think it is most sad composition I ever wrote. The solo violin represents here the personal farewell to life It appears in the beginning and then a few more times in the piece creating a kind of the Rondoforma All 16 strings of the orchestra mostly have individual music partst which gives a specially dramatic character to the composition, The piece was premiered on 29th of August 1999 at Fredener Germany, by the Freden Camerata.’ (Elena Firsova)
