Synopsis

On a long, hot summer day, the little girl Alice encounters a White Rabbit with a pocket watch – she follows the animal into his rabbit hole and plunges into a fascinating world full of absudities and peculiar challenges. Before long she grows, then she shrinks. Everything is so odd that Alice weeps a whole pool of tears. No matter who or what she encounters in Wonderland: everything appears to be crazy, nothing seems to be reliable. Alice meets a Mouse, a Mad Hatter, a March Hare, a Smoking Caterpillar, a Cheshire Cat that can simply disappear into thin air, and the overbearing Queen of Hearts, who has a whole pack of playing cards subordinate to her. Whoever breaks her rules gets their head cut off. In all of their peculiarities, these figures have characteristics that remind Alice of the members of her fmaily in the real world ...

Yet, everything in Wonderland that at first glance perhaps seems nonsensical or arbitrary proves itself during the course of time to be logical and enlightening. Full of courage and curiosity, Alice confronts the situations that continually become more threatening, until at the end it is a matter of death or freedom. Alice returns home from her adventures more mature than before.
