Selections from Elena Kats-Chernin’s attractive works are now available on sale as digital publications for the first time. These include music from the popular Wild Swans Suite alongside her keyboard collections Piano Village and Unsent Love Letters.

Australian-resident composer Elena Kats-Chernin is a master of the miniature, capturing a sudden mood, dance rhythm or memorable melodic arc into music. Her catalogue has grown with the addition of over 50 new digital publications, available on sale for the first time from The Shop at Boosey.com and other digital stores. The selection ranges across her chamber music and piano collections, with a total of over 100 of her pieces now available digitally.

Highlights among the recent releases include her Wild Swans Suite (including the ever-popular Eliza Aria) with ten movements from the ballet music arranged for violin and piano. Four movements are also arranged for piano trio, now available digitally. All 25 pieces in her Piano Village collection are now on sale for digital download, as are the 26 pieces in her meditation on Erik Satie Unsent Love Letters, forming a personal memoir from one composer to another. The latter album was recorded by pianist Tamara-Anna Cislowska for ABC Classics in 2017 and released digitally by Deutsche Grammophon.

Recent Kats-Chernin performances have included the world premiere in Adelaide of her new violin concerto Fantasie im Wintergarten, and German premieres of orchestral works Re-Collecting ASTORoids, Big Rhap and Ornamental Air.

As well as the Kats-Chernin releases, recent digital downloads added to The Shop at Boosey.com include Homage to Paderewski, consisting of 16 piano tributes to the great statesman and musician. The collection dates from the 1940s following Paderewski’s untimely death, with contributions from an international range of composers including Bartók, Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Martinu, Milhaud, Rathaus and Weinberger.

In his 150th anniversary year, Rachmaninoff’s output for cello and piano enjoys a welcome expansion with a set of ten arrangements by Klaus Simon. These pieces draw upon the composer’s songs, some of the most beautiful in the repertoire and ideally suited to the cello. The complete catalogue of Rachmaninoff digital titles from Boosey & Hawkes numbers over 70 pieces, featuring arrangements of popular pieces for a range of instruments, together with familiar themes drawn from works such as Piano Concertos Nos.2 and 3 and his evergreen Preludes.
