Boosey Wins 2019 Paul Revere Award for Graphic Excellence
Boosey & Hawkes distinguished itself once again at the Music Publishers Association’s annual Paul Revere Awards ceremony in New York City, winning First Prize in the category of “Cover Design Featuring Photography.”
On Friday, June 14, Boosey & Hawkes’ New York editorial team was presented a 2019 Paul Revere Award from the Music Publishers Association of the United States. The winning publication, David T. Little's Soldier Songs piano/vocal score, was awarded first prize in the category of “Cover Design Featuring Photography.”
The Soldier Songs score cover features a photograph of a toy soldier, taken by David Adam Moore, representing Little’s dark monodrama about the perceptions and realities of being a soldier, told from the point of view of a soldier as he progresses from boyhood to old age.
The Paul Revere Awards—established in 1964 in honor of America’s first music engraver and American Revolution patriot Paul Revere—are presented to music publishers annually at the MPA Meeting and Awards luncheon in recognition of publications that best exemplify high standards in music engraving, design, and utility, with an emphasis on usability for orchestras, educators, libraries and individuals. Publications are eligible to win prizes in 13 separate award categories, ranging from educational folios to piano and guitar solos to choral and full orchestra scores.
