Anna Lapwood signs with Boosey & Hawkes
Leading organist and choral director Anna Lapwood has signed a publishing contract with Boosey & Hawkes. The new agreement includes her existing choral works and organ transcriptions together with rights to Lapwood’s future publications.

Boosey & Hawkes, a Concord company, is delighted to announce that leading organist and choral director Anna Lapwood has signed a new publishing agreement. The contract covers rights in her choral works together with a growing collection of organ transcriptions. As well as featuring her existing catalogue, the new agreement includes rights to publications of Lapwood’s future works. In addition, Lapwood will play a leading role championing new choral composers and advising on repertoire for developing voices.
Anna Lapwood is a visionary protagonist for her instrument, the organ, holding the position of Associate Artist of the Royal Albert Hall in London. She is a natural communicator and reaches a huge audience through her concerts and via social media. As well as giving recitals around the world and appearing as concerto soloist with leading orchestras, Lapwood has created an ongoing series of highly popular organ transcriptions. These include Britten’s Four Sea Interludes from Peter Grimes, Chopin’s Nocturne op.9 No.2 and Debussy’s Clair de Lune, all available as digital downloads from Boosey & Hawkes.

As a choral director, centred on her role as Director of Music at Pembroke College Cambridge, Anna Lapwood has recorded three acclaimed albums of choral music. She has done much to promote new music and pieces by women composers including Kerensa Briggs and Lucy Walker. Lapwood’s own music published by Boosey & Hawkes includes O nata lux and Drop down, ye heavens, together with The Pembroke Carol and new versions of Silent Night and Gaudete which she created in collaboration with the Pembroke College Girls’ Choir.

Her pioneering advocacy for classical music and education has seen Anna Lapwood receive the prestigious 2023 Gamechanger Award from the Royal Philharmonic Society. Earlier this month Lapwood was named as one of TikTok’s Breakthrough Artists for 2023, celebrating those who have shaped the platform over the year. Lapwood has enthusiastically and creatively built an online community of more than a million followers across all platforms, including 650,000 on TikTok, amassing tens of millions of views. She also reaches new audiences through her television and radio broadcasting, as presenter of the BBC Young Musician of the Year in 2020 and as guest presenter for the First Night of the BBC Proms in 2023, alongside regular appearances on BBC Radio 3 and 4.

About Anna Lapwood
Anna Lapwood is an associate artist of the Royal Albert Hall (London) and holds the position of Director of Music at Pembroke College (Cambridge). She was awarded an Associateship of the Royal Academy of Music and the prestigious Gamechanger Award from the Royal Philharmonic Society in 2023. Anna regularly performs concertos with leading symphony orchestras and is heard playing recitals in concert halls and churches across Europe and the United States; she will make her debut appearance at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles in 2024. Collaborations outside of the classical world include Anna has also performed with Alison Balsom, Bonobo, Raye, Ministry of Sound and Benedict Cumberbatch. As a broadcaster, she made her TV presenting debut on BBC Young Musician (also serving as Chair of the Jury in 2022), has hosted a televised Prom and is a regular contributor to BBC Radio 3 and 4. Anna also reaches a large online audience with over a million social media followers.
She was the first female in Magdalen College Oxford’s 560-year history to be awarded the Organ Scholarship and became Ambassador of the Cathedral Music Trust in 2022. Anna runs the annual Cambridge Organ Experience for Girls and in 2022, curated and edited ‘Gregoriana’ for Stainer & Bell, an anthology of 12 new organ pieces by female composers which was awarded Presto Music’s Publication of the Year.
Following four successful albums on Signum Classics, Anna signed to SONY Classical in 2023 releasing the EP Midnight Sessions at the Royal Albert Hall in April, a new organ album LUNA in the autumn, and most recently a digital collection of Christmas choral music titled In The Stillness.
