Tech Requirements:
This work contains an electronics part consisting of stereo samples that are triggered from an electronic keyboard, placed onstage with the orchestra, as well as of specially prepared electronic sounds triggered from the keyboard. The sound samples are of "voices" (sung, spoken, and "other") as well as "imaginary soundscapes" of Philadelphia, made from recordings received from the Philadelphia Voices mobile app, via e-mail and website, or recorded by the composer and his colleagues in the course of creating this composition, as well as from electronic and transformed material produced in the composer's studio. These sonorities are designed to both blend and contrast with the live orchestra and chorus.
