Repertoire Note
This stunning work would make an excellent starter for any concert with a cornucopea of riches for the concertante quartet of horns, accompanied by an orchestra of two trumpets and strings. The single movement contains a scherzo-like section and a slowish section before the music of the opening returns, with the last word being given to the trumpets.
