Composer's Notes
The founder of Glasgow Celtic Football Club in 1888 was a Marist brother from Sligo, Andrew Kerins, otherwise known as Brother Walfrid. A new statue of him was unveiled in November 2005 at the main entrance of Celtic Park, otherwise known as Paradise. I was asked to write the music for this unveiling. It was originally played by a group of young folk musicians from Coatbridge, the St Patricks’ branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann. This is the arrangement for piano solo.
It is in two parts; a slow air and a reel.
