"It is a play about a fairy tale from 1001 Nights. A story about a magic carpet and all sorts of heroic adventures. From the beginning to figure 2, the carpet is shown gradually and jerkily moving (bassoon suggestions), gaining height, and two bars before figure 2 take off and fly into the sky.
Up to figure 10 there is a breathtaking flight over a beautiful landscape with images of nature, rivers and birdsong. At number 10, events on earth are seen more clearly, pictures of serene life. But there are also dangers, not everything is so bright in a city full of mysteries (number 12). And yet at number 14 the heroes are seized by a stream of bright and fresh impressions (the wind instruments happily interrupt each other and energetically reproduce the hustle and bustle of an oriental bazaar), from number 15 the strings suddenly rise and fall. At number 16, everything merges into a diverse babble of voices from the crowd. The tension mounts, everyone screams and knocks each other over. And in all the hustle and bustle, the princess suddenly disappears! She was kidnapped by robbers, they took her away across the sea. How many difficulties the hero had to overcome to find her. He makes his way across the stormy ocean and fights his way to an enchanted kingdom (number 26) in which the princess is being held captive. The heroes, who have walked the dangerous path together, are set free. And finally, victory at number 31, the hero sails the ship towards fortune. Triumph, the trumpets announce the hero's return to the land of the fathers. But suddenly the story ends and it turns out that it was just a beautiful vision.
