Composer's Notes
Writing music for an E-flat clarinet, which is above all known for its high register and difficult intonations, was a real challenge for me. I had to use these weaknesses and convert them into positives.
In addition to being inspired by Balkan folklore, certain words guided me in my execution of the piece: shake, push, stop, rub, upwards air; they all come from an instruction manual for a hand dryer.
