Wayland Rogers
A native of Kentucky and currently resides in Chicago *Composer, conductor, singer and teacher * Award-winning compositions include several large works for chorus and orchestra as well as shorter works for all vocal ensembles, and solo songs * Frequently commissioned works are heard in churches, synagogues, schools and concert halls throughout the world * A lyric baritone, he has performed with major symphonies in the U.S.A., at the festivals of Tanglewood, Blossom, Ravinia, and Mostly Mozart * His art songs are favorites of many young artists of the Lyric Opera of Chicago * Grammy nomination in 1987 for Best Chamber Music recording * Conductor of The Camerata Singers and Music Director at North Shore Unitarian Church, Deerfield, Illinois * Has held teaching positions at Northwestern University, DePaul University and Loyola University, Chicago * Currently a choral faculty member at North Park University Chicago * Trained at the University of Kentucky, Wichita State University, Northwestern University and the Salzburg Mozarteum.
