• Part-time professor of music theory at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg (2001–2009); was appointed in 2009 to the FRANZ LISZT University of Music in Weimar, where he has since been Professor of Music Theory and Aural Training at the Centre for Music Theory
