Bethle'm baby, sleeping lay He
in a stable safe from harm.
Cattle lowing, moonlight glowing,
Mary held Him in her arms.
"Lullaby, my blessed Child.
Dream a dream so meek and mild.
Born a Saviour, how adored.
My sweet Lord."

Shepherds lazing, sheep agrazing
in the pastures green close by.
Hosts of angels and archangels
share their message from on high.
"Fear ye not and sing with joy.
Born to you a baby boy!
Praise His name with one accord.
Christ the Lord!"

T'ward the manger walked three strangers:
'twas the wise men from far away.
"Homage pay we, and we pray Thee
will receive our gifts today.
Lowly Sov'reign, do not stir.
We bring incense, gold and myrrh.
Thee we worship, over-awed.
Mighty Lord!"
