To celebrate Gerald Finzi’s 120th birthday year The Finzi Trust and Boosey & Hawkes are launching an international online singing competition giving you the chance to perform for a renowned panel and win a cash prize of £5000 for first place singer and £2000 for first place pianist.

FAQs
What are the age limits of the competition?
Entrants must be aged 18 years of age or above. There is no upper age limit.
Does my submission video need to be shot in one continuous take, or can songs
be recorded in individual takes and then put into one video?
The whole submission does not need to be recorded in one shot however each song must be shot
continuously. N.B. there must be no editing of the sound quality of the video(s).
Is it compulsory that the songs be sung in the original published key?
It is acceptable to submit Finzi songs in any transposed key.
Is the competition completely online or if there is a final round in person?
The competition is held entirely online to encourage international entries. There will be no live rounds.
Does the video need to capture both singer and pianist performing
together ‘live’ or can I combine separate videos for singer and pianist into one submission entry?
We have extended the competition closing date to enable singers and pianists to be able to rehearse and record
together in the same room/video. We will keep this under review as Covid-19 restrictions fluctuate.
