Written for a community of singers, both children (Treble Choir) and adults (Mixed Choir). The music reflects a Native American influence, though it does not employ authentic native musical elements. A simple, heartfelt text (Navajo Prayer by Leo Platero) is set in repetitive, chant-like phrases, uncluttered textures, an intoned Navajo prayer, and a soaring melody in the children's voices.
